GENERAL CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THIS CONTRACT

This contract is made for the rental of the facilities, and the use of the services provided by Magen David Sephardic Congregation as outlined and requested by the lessee and outlines as follows between: Magen David Sephardic Congregation , THE LESSOR and THE LESSEE (HOST).

In consideration of the payment stated, the lessor and the lessee agree as follows:

Brit Mila/Bar/Bat Mitzvah/Wedding Venue Package includes use of Sanctuary and Main Banquet Hall.

The time limits for functions: any hall rentals in the mornings begin at 8:00 am and must end by 1:30 pm; evenings start at 3:30 pm and end at 2:00 am. Extra charges are applicable on an hourly basis if the event ends after 1:30 for morning events and 2:00 am for evening events.

In order to have a wedding, both the groom and bride must be Jewish according to Orthodox Halacha and must fill out the wedding information form.

In order to have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the boy/girl must be Jewish according to Orthodox Halacha. In order to have a Brit Mila, the boy must be Jewish according to Orthodox Halacha.

The lessee acknowledges that this contract relates to the use of MD’s facilities only and does not include fees charged by the caterer. The lessee shall pay a deposit to MD’s 50% of the total sum owing upon booking, and the balance prior to the date of the event. All deposits are 100% non-refundable.

The floor plan for the event must be submitted 3 days prior to MD’s, otherwise a surcharge will apply.

Any damage caused by the host to the premises will be charged to them by Magen David.

Additional Information:

  • The Rabbi must approve events for non-members

  • All food unless other than from from Elie’s Fine Food or Chicken Nest to arrive in sealed containers (with COR tape)

  • All alcohol in (unopened) bottles to be approved by the Rabbi

  • No milk food/products

  • All candies bear a kosher sign. Everything MUST be brought in Friday before sundown

  • Chapel CANNOT be used for kiddush even though it’s been done in the past

  • If reception is at PT we encourage the family to offer the kiddush for the congregants

  • Hall rental is accessible the day before unless it’s a holy day/ festival

  • MD can set up tables and chairs only. Hosts bring tablecloths, tableware, glasses, napkins etc.

  • No decorations on walls or ceiling

* Additional cleaning fee of $250 not included. 

** Booking of the hall is done through the House Committee and is open to both members and non-members. However, only members may book more than 12 months in advance. Bookings are finalized only upon signing of the rental agreement and payment of a non-refundable deposit.
